Makgadikgadi Pans
The tranquility of the place is serene, with a mystical allure, which invokes enigmatic guess less awe, the tremendous vastness of the nothingness leaves one lost in reverie. At the precipice of southern most escarpments one oversees the breeding sanctuary to greater and lesser mysterious African lighting birds. Atop are pristine ruins of the sophisticated “hills people” the elephant centric culture of the African southern kingdoms of the late Iron Age. The australis are littered with fossilized trees dating 2 millennia, evidently one sees why the pondered thought to have proclaimed the paleo makgadikgadi lake to have been “the cradle of human kind”
